Passion and Teamwork Drive the Success of Image Drywall
Owners Joe and Ray Martorell’s passion for drywall and painting started in high school when they began working with their dad. After graduating, they opened Image Drywall & Paint and have enjoyed an incredible partnership ever since. It is this passion and the team they’ve built over the years that has driven their success.
Team Culture Builds Success
Proud to be a family-owned and operated business, all six brothers in their family have worked directly for Image and continue to support each other to this day. This support filters down to the team employed at the company. “We want to ensure that everybody who is part of the Image team has the best experience and the most success possible,” says Ray.
In fact, it is the team culture at Image that is responsible for the company’s success. “We continue to build our team with like-minded people who seek our mutual growth and success in everything they do. A team that when put to the task, strives to exceed expectations in everything that is asked of them,” says Ray. “At the same time, we value the different perspectives and experiences that each team member provides, much of our strength comes from placing value on this as well,” adds Joe.
Company Background
Image opened for business in 2001 in Alaska and expanded in 2017 to the Reno, Nevada area. Joe heads up the Alaska division while Ray manages the Reno division. In Reno, the company works primarily on multifamily projects while Alaska focuses more on commercial buildings such as offices, government and military facilities. Their services include metal stud framing, drywall, and painting.
A few recent Reno projects include:
- Atwood at RED, Single largest project in Reno, a premier lifestyle apartment community at the Reno Experience District (RED)
- Ballpark, 368-unit multifamily project in Reno directly across from their minor league baseball park
- Emory at RED, 300 apartment homes in the Reno Experience District
PABCO products were used primarily on these projects according to Ray. “The great products, services and relationships is why we use PABCO on our projects. I mean that with all my heart even down to the personal level,” says Ray. “We just built a new home and I made sure to use PABCO.”
Growth Key Objective
Beyond multifamily, Image is looking to branch out to commercial, tenant improvement and retail store projects. Growth and providing the best quality possible on all projects are among the objectives for the company. Over the past couple of decades Image has grown to have an office staff of six, five superintendents, four estimators/project managers, and a growing number of talented field crews.
“We are so grateful to our customers and community for providing us an opportunity to do what we love,” says Ray. We are excited to see what the next 20 years brings!”
